It's Friday Already?

Today is Friday, November 10th. I am thinking about writing a post, but...while cleaning up my front page on the computer (is it called my desk top? That's kind of weird.) I found this old post (from Friday, October 6th) that I didn' t finish. I'll tell you the rest of the story after this one is done.

This Saturday is Emberlee's birthday. She has been psyched for months about it. No pressure right? Today, after I did my Zoom Boxing class with Cynthia, I thought- oops it is Friday and I haven't started my blog post! It will be a weekend of Birthday stuff happening, so this is it girl, you better get cracking.

Soooo, this post will be about pain. It is one of the things I have been working through this week. I have been having a lot of pain in my right leg, to the point of not being able to take walks. Grrrr.

I have gone to neuro muscular massage for it and to the neuro balance therapy center for it and now have started going to regular therapy for it. The main focus of this therapy seems to be to strengthen my core muscles. Mine have been shot for 32 years since I gave birth to my son Brendon. He was almost 11 pound's at birth, my core muscles didn't survive, Brendon is lucky that he survived! I didn't feel like smiling at that child for months. (Sort of- not really-well maybe really :-).......(Truthfully my muscles weren't so good before giving birth either. I have been a bit of a sloth.)

Lately, I am asking all the people with Parkinson's if they have leg pain. Do you get leg pain? I'd love to hear from you what you do to help it. Here is one of the answers that I have gotten lately: sit on a tennis ball. And then you can gently lift your knee up and straighten your leg. Don't leave your leg up or even do this for a long time. You are trying to get the tense muscles to relax.

So we are now back in November. And today, I took a small walk around town and I didn't hurt. If you ask what fixed it. I say.. I don't know. Time? I stopped all the therapy, they didn't seem to help. (I don't mean physical therapy wouldn't help anyone else or me for something else!) A couple of times over the last 2 months my leg has gotten better then gotten worse again. I got my fingers crossed for this time. It's a mystery.

Cheers,

Nancy and the Snark
