Parkinson's: A Farewell
So Long Chris Primm
I never got to meet her in person. I only saw her online, over zoom, but it was every Thursday during our “Speaking With Purpose” class. And Pam does a good job in making sure that we all get to know each other.
Pam starts each class with the question “what brought you joy this week?”
Every class, she says each person's name, then she asks each of us “what brought you joy this week?” And one at a time, the camera zooms in on us, as we answer it. Repetition is important for remembering names, and by answering this question, you get a wonderful glimmer of who each person is. Pam answers the question each week too, so we have all grown in our knowledge and our caring of each other. (That just gave me an idea of how to create a warm partnership with my Doctors. I think I will ask if they would be willing to answer this question “What brought you joy this week?” at the beginning of each session we meet for a visit. Thank you Chris, for this prompt! I haven't been able to think of how to grow a relationship with my Doctors.)
Chris wrote to me a wonderful e mail, jam packed with information and invitations to parkinson's groups and events and parkinson's places in the Columbus area. We wrote a couple of e mails back and forth. Then she said “Yes!” when I asked her if she would be willing to write a guest post. I have found that it is a hard thing for people to say yes to. And I really appreciated her willingness to give it a go. Her post was as rich and full of good humor and life, as she was.

Snarky Parky & me -Chris Primm guest post
Chris, my Parkie Friend, has died. She got cancer added to her parkinson's 2 years ago. It felt like she was going to conquer it. We wrote to each other after I found out that she had cancer, until one time, I didn't hear back. I was worried, that wasn't like her. This past Thursday, during our Speaking With Purpose class, Pam told us, Chris Primm had died. Our sound was already off. I turned off the video, I needed to cry.
In Chris's Obituary it said:
After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, she became very active in helping other “Parkinson Pals” understand the disease. How to cope with it; where to get information and help; and most of all, they were not alone. She was a loving, caring person to the end.
